In this article, we will discuss what cool things you can do with FL Studio Edison.

Edison is one of the best audio editing tools you can use to create new sounds or edit existing parts of a sound.

Create an Intro

In this first example, we will see how we can create a sound clip that is used as an intro to an existing sound clip. You can use it for intros, to introduce your chorus, a new verse etc.

The small clip that will be extracted out of Edison will have Reverb in it.

1. Select Edit sample on your existing sound clip

2. Load the audio clip and select reverse.

3. Delete any unwanted space

4. Open a new Edison in the mixer. Add some reverb or other wanted effects in the mixer chain. Record the new sound

5. Reverse the sound again & export the new sound with added effects into your playlist. Cut any unwanted parts of your new clip as required

Add Bass to Kick or create a whole new Bass wav file

1. Load the kick into Edison

2. Create a new space at the end of your clip in Edison.

3. Select sine generator as shown in the gif below and insert shown values.

4. Hit run and correct any imperfections in the wave graph.

5. Select the ends of your new created bass and select fade out & Export the new audio file.

Create noise to use for sound design purposes

If you want to create pure noise sound for sound design purposes for example in the occurrence of a mishappening or accident in a movie clip. You can insert the values shown below in the gif after selecting empty space in Edison with any sound.

Create vocal chops to add as a melody or sound effect

This is useful for trap beat producers trying to add some vocals to their beats and make them more hearable to new youtube views that might be in the beginner stage of their musical journey.

1. Insert a vocal sample in the playlist and select edit sample.

2. Select the portion of the sound you wanna take out of that sample and hit export as shown,

3. Load that new file from your playlist to your channel rack.

4. Add the vocal notes to your piano roll to make new sound effects within the key range of your beat.
